lient: Tsunami Restaurant, W1

Place: Charlotte Street, London

Completion: September 09

Synopsis:
New contemporary Japanese restaurant by renowned chef Ken Sam. Sister of the Tsunami in Clapham.

The design takes inspiration from traditional Japanese painting and contemporary styling. The concept was to fuse these elements to compliment the nature of the delicate and delicious food.

A flurry of gold leafed trees and birds decorate the polished plaster walls. Curved walls meet ceilings without hard edges. An entrance arch takes form from a breaking wave. All designed to create a powerful yet welcoming space.

The re-modeling of the Georgian building helped maximise the space for the client.

'Lab' created the Interior and decoration and revised the corporate image.
Client: Friends of Mine-bar & kitchen

Place: Beckenham Kent

Completion: June 07

Synopsis:
We positioned ‘Friends’ as a smart bar in the heart of a village suburb of London attracting a
young and fashionable crowd.

The concept was to create a contemporary styled bar with a stunning unique decorative design. The lighter front bar works well for daytime trade serving coffee and an all day menu. In the evening the front becomes a showcase for the ‘wanna be seen’ south London crowd. While the darker back room, works perfectly at night as a smart lounge bar.

'Lab' designed the Interior, and designed the 'Friends' brand including website. The name and Identity created by ‘Lab’ to create a strong corporate ID. Which included the bold decoration throughout.

Client: Mhs Express

Place: Chatham Kent

Mhs homes are a housing association building thousands of houses per year in Medway. They wanted to have a presence in Chatham town centre to communicate their services.

We created an exciting one stop shop for customers wishing to pay their rent or discuss housing. Primarily we wanted to distance them from council services, who they are often confused with.
